Owl’s Eye Vineyards

Along the rolling foothills of Cleveland County, approximately 3 miles from downtown Shelby
lie the vineyards of Owl’s Eye. In 2002, owner Frank Hannah decided to venture into the
vineyard and winery business, planting on 140 acres of land he’d owned
for more than 30 years.
Last year he hired Peter Jensen as tasting room manager, who brought a strong background in the wine industry. Sean McRitchie acts as winemaker and winemaking consultant. Varietals currently being grown include Merlot, Malbec, Sangiovese, Cabernet fran, Petit verdot, Pinot gris, Chardonnay and Viognier. The Tasting Room is open Thursday-Sunday.
