What’s New
Autumn Creek Vineyards is located in Northwestern Rockingham County
in the north central part of North Carolina. Grapes are grown on a
former tobacco and cattle farm, with the goal of preserving the natural
landscape. A newly completed tasting room is open Thursday through Sunday
and several charming log cabins are also available on the property for weekend getaways.
The vineyard currently consists of nine French Viniferia varieties: Merlot, Chambourcin, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Viognier, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir and Petite Manseng. The first planting was in 2001, consisting of one acre. Now the vineyard has a little over 10 acres and with plans to expand further.

When the taste for the grape beckons, wine enthusiasts living in or traveling around North Carolina’s southernmost stretch of sand can take a ride down Barbecue Road in Ocean Isle Beach.
Wine and barbecue? Two distinctive worlds unto themselves for sure, but they convene at Silver Coast Winery, a working winery with an annual production of 10,000 cases. Brimming with warmth and charm, the former barbecue restaurant houses a tasting room, an eclectic art gallery, a cavernous barrel room with an indoor waterfall, bottling room, and wine cellars. Love for wine compelled owners Maryann and Bud Azzato to open Silver Coast six years ago. Maryann’s father made wine as a hobby during her formative years in Neptune, New Jersey, and that exposure to the process resonated within her.
